Defining My Terms; Spineless is a Gimmie

I am rather certain that we do not need to define what it means to be spineless. Frankly, this has been a growing problem in Western Christian Culture over forty years. The Jesus Movement of the 1960’s Hippie Culture transformed the normally stalwart American Church into a pacifistic mass of constantly reproducing jellyfish. So much so, that the phrase “Evan-Jellyfish” has come to describe most of what makes up mainstream Evangelicalism. But sadly, the Visible Church is often a short ten to fifteen years behind the rest of culture.

Let’s do a very brief look into reactionary. Most dictionaries describe it as a predominantly “conservative” political movement that seeks to push back on non-traditional progressivism. To some degree most people are reactionary to things in their personal lives. However, as a whole, reactionaries are predominantly on the right. This is why I often draw a distinction between my more paleo-conservative views and what I refer to as Fox News or Reactionary Conservatives. The more the nation is pushed towards the left the harder the Reactionary Conservatives tend to vocalize their discontent at the loss of “their values” and for being marginalized. Think, “What is happening to my country…”

Protectionism is a Politico-Economic progressive position that basically imposes tariffs and other roadblocks on goods from other nations in order to keep industry, business and “workers” “safe” from the threat of outside forces. While in the last thirty or so years we have seen more of the reactionary conservative types adopting this position, it still remains a predominately Leftist economic tool.

Co-opting the Terms

One of the favorite tools of the Marxist Left is the co-opting of terms and adopting of mainstream language. They do this to weaponize words and turn them against their enemies as they marginalize them. This tactic was adopted and modified from Saul Alinsky and can be seen as a combination of Rules twelve, eight and five from Rules for Radicals:

The Rules

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Back to Co-opting

By combining the three rules above you will see the power behind the Marxist Left use of words. Consider the way they use NAZI today. A NAZI is a very specific person with a very specific ideological position. However, the Marxist Left has turned broader society in the USA into spineless cowards terrified of being labeled a NAZI if they disagree with some statement advanced into the cultural narrative.

We see this played out in the Black Lives Matter mantra. If you dare point out that the very tenets of BLM are racist, you will be quickly called a NAZI and your career could be ruined.

Therefore, I am going to adopt Rule 4: Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. I am co-opting the usage of reactionary and protectionism and pointing them at the Radical Left. From now when you see me use the phrase as a label you can understand it to mean the following:

A person(s) or group(s) that is in constant state of flux trying to utilize allegedly dangerous current events. They do this to bring about their agenda of cultural upheaval and change.

Moreover, when you see me use the term protectionism/ist you can understand it to mean:
A person(s) or groups(s) that is willing to forgo all elements of the Constitution as it applies to their opponents. This is done for the sole purpose of marginalizing said opponents. But  the Leftist will cling to the Constitution in whatever ways suit their ends.

What Exactly is Spineless Reactionary Protectionism?

Spineless Reactionary Protectionism is a rather specific moniker. But as a description it is broad and diverse. As individuals or in groups they are divisive. Overall, in a broad sense it looks like this:
Largely comprised of people that see themselves as personally unaccountable for their own lives and actions this group turns to a powerful parental/authoritarian figure for help.

Consequently, when their safety (winter-storms, hurricanes, climate change, mean words from a fellow student in school) health (C19, seasonal flu, artificial/natural sweeteners, drug epidemics and etc.) or financial well-being (crashed economy, loss of a job for any reason, inflation, poverty stricken region, etc.)  are apparently compromised, they demand that this parental figure step in and take responsibility for fixing these concerns.

Often, they view the government or a particular political figure as the hope for having every need provided to them. Ironically, many SRPs consider themselves counter-cultural anti-establishment types. Nowhere is this more readily displayed than in the person of Bernie Sanders.

SRPs are the people that fifty-five years ago were telling everyone, “Never trust government or any person over thirty.” Today, these same SRPs are firmly ensconced in the halls of the government they formerly hated. Furthermore, they spend all their time telling you to unflaggingly trust them even though they are well past thirty.

The Cognitive Dissonance would be laughable if it weren’t so starkly chilling…

Simply put, Spineless Reactionary Protectionism is constantly on the lookout for the next disaster, real or perceived, that they can glom onto to ride into two things.

Being protected from all harm.

Establishing themselves as the arbiters of how to protect everyone else.

How Spineless Reactionary Protectionism is Toppling the Republic

With every passing day we are inundated with the next existential crisis. Climate change is an existential crisis. Racism is not only evil (make no mistake ethnic hatred is wicked, but only my world view can explain why…” but it is now a global health crisis. Just ask the CEC and the MDH. These spineless zombies believed that C19 was the next extinction level event. No matter what the disaster du jour may be there is only one way to address them all…

Authoritarian Marxist Leftism decision making.

Only they know what is best for you and yours.

This mindset of looking to react to the ever-increasing plague of world-ending catastrophes has opened the door in the US to argue, “But the Constitution doesn’t ever mention that you have a fundamental right to (fill in the blank)!”

Keep in mind that these are the same people that created from Constitutional Whole Cloth the inherent right for women to murder their children In Utero.

Sadly, the disease of Spineless Reactionary Protectionism has infected a massive segment of our society. Unfortunately, no amount of Social Distancing, Stay-At-Home Orders, and Masking Mandates will prevent the spread of this invisible Constitution Killer. There is your existential crisis right there.

Moreover, the measure listed above are actually symptoms of Spineless Reactionary Protectionism. Consequently, the more it goes unchecked and un-resisted by the average everyday American the faster the acceptance of the disease spreads.

Until, and the spineless so-called silent majority stand up and say enough is enough, we will never attain the “herd immunity of Liberty” that we so desperately need.

Then, and only then, will we see that our Republic can survive such a blatant attack on the immune system designed to kill off the virus of Tyranny. The Constitution.

Sic Semper Tyrannis!
